ABOUT WINTERS RUN

Our dogs give us a new and exciting challenge and allow us to combine our knowledge with our passion as we strive to produce the most exquisite and genetically sound dogs possible. In my daily life, I am a lecturer-professor of biology and hold a PhD in evolutionary geneticsAs a breeder and geneticist, my primary goal with our dogs is to produce sound, healthy, intelligent and stable dogs that are not only fit to perform their original function, but also provide many years of stress-free companionship to their families. To achieve this, we need to not only start with well-bred dogs that have been carefully selected for these traits for many generations ensuring a sound genetic base, but we also need to provide optimal care, socialization, training and enrichment using the latest research in dog nutrition and behavior. I am currently working on certification to become a professional dog trainer in applied canine ethology.

We do a lot with our dogs including conformation, bikejoring, sledding, hiking, and canicross and can be found at events in the area (email us for a schedule). We frequently run our dogs in harness and believe the Siberian should be a functional, athletic, versatile "dual-purpose" dog with recognizable type, moderate sound structure and efficient movement.

We are an AKC Breeder of Merit. Our dogs get the best of everything and are our family members. Breeding for us is a passion to produce outstanding puppies that are functional athletes and conform to the breed standard, and we share our puppies with those who have a similar mindset and passion for the breed.

PUPPIES

We are planning a winter litter!

Our puppies are raised with Puppy Culture and Avidog protocols. These programs are an excellent tool that enables breeders and puppy owners to easily access the latest scientific research to raise well-adjusted companions. It has benefited my puppies by acclimating them to new sights, sounds and experiences and increasing neurological activity/problem-solving skills during the critical socialization period.
